Japanese-oriented, emotional tying – your gateway to the world of Shibari. In five consecutive topic blocks at the WolfRope Juku, you will learn the fundamentals of Japanese-oriented tying, inspired by the traditional schools of Yukimura Ryu and Osada Ryu. The course is offered in two formats with identical content: on Saturdays as a day course or during the week as an evening course. Between modules, there is enough time to practise what you have learned.
What to expect
Step by step, you progress from a simple hand tie through floor ties to your first partial suspension. Each module builds on the previous one, so you internalise the techniques safely and sustainably.
Beyond technique, the course covers:
- Safety and accident prevention
- Anatomy: where ropes may and may not be placed
- Body handling: bringing your partner into the ropes safely and respectfully
- Interaction and communication within the tying couple
- The historical background of Shibari
In addition to the in-person classes, you get access to a learning area. There you can revisit the course content via videos and scripts, and deepen your knowledge using exercises. In a closed forum, you can share your practice results with pictures and text and receive tips from WolfRope.
Quality over speed: WolfRope takes more time for each topic than is common in many other concepts. The aim is a stable, safe foundation for your shared rope time – not as much material as possible in a short time.
Who it is for
Tying couples who want to start with Shibari and have little or no experience so far. The course can only be booked as a couple.
Prerequisites
No previous experience required.
