Kinbaku Series at WolfRope in Karlsruhe

Kinbaku Series

Kinbaku masterclass with a focus on Semenawa. Over four intensive weekends, you dive deep into a Kinbaku that thrives on precision, clean lines and finely measured tension, in a style inspired by Naka. At its heart is Semenawa: demanding, restrictive rope work that is guided not by rigid forms but by the body and by Ukete’s reactions. From weekend to weekend, the demands and complexity increase.

What to expect

Teaching concept – quality over quantity

On each intensive weekend, we work on three classic ties. They are not only learned but repeated, analysed, refined and understood in their effect on body, structure and dynamics. This way you learn the techniques sustainably and solve challenges directly under guidance.

Semenawa thrives on interplay. Shibarite learns to measure tension precisely, to wait for the right moment and to read Ukete’s reactions. Ukete experiences how challenge, devotion and trust condense in the tie. Both sides grow through the series, technically and emotionally.

Focus areas

  • Precision: clean lines and finely controlled tension instead of decoration
  • Reading the body: perceiving Ukete’s physical and emotional reactions and adapting the tie to them
  • Time and pause: consciously using pace, stillness and distance (ma) as means of expression
  • Intention: giving every rope movement a meaning
  • Semenawa: building, holding and releasing tension and challenge deliberately
  • Small, consistent group with individual guidance

For all the intensity, one thing remains the foundation of every tie: responsibility. The more demanding the rope, the more alert attention, safety and care must be.

What you take home

By the end of the series, you will have not just learned the ties but also internalised them. You understand more deeply how structure, tension and time work together, and you have found a shared language in the rope that takes your tying relationship to a new level.

Who it is for

Experienced tying couples at upper intermediate and advanced level with a solid technical foundation who want to deepen their practice in demanding, physically and emotionally intense Kinbaku. The series can only be booked as a couple and only as a complete package, so that all participants go through the entire learning process together.
